Dear Friends,

The following was written as a group story by our
class last week. Don't give up on us.  We will write
and send poems soom.

We are students in the third grade at Ibraham
Elementray School.  We live in Winston Salem, North
Carolina.  Our town was founded in 1759 by Moravians
who started a town called Bethania.  Before that
Native Americans also lived here.

There are about 150,000 people in our town. We are
African Americans, Whites, and Hispanics, even some
Chinese people live here.  There are tobacco farms and
factories in our town.  We also make clothes and
furniture.

We like to play football, soccer, baseball and
basketball.  People ski in the Blue Ridge Mountains
nearby.

There are lots of trees and plants here.  Our state
tree is the dogwood.  We have animals too, like deer,
skunks, racoons, foxes and lots of birds.

We love our town!
