VIEW OUT OF THE WINDOW FROM  NEVADA, USA

Dear Nata,Lena N.,Lena S.,Sasha,Oksana,Yura,Masha,Irena,Anya,Zhena,Olya, and
Valintina,

It was very nice to hear from you.  Your command of the English language is very good.  I thoroughly enjoyed your view from your window.  I hope to communicate my view as well.  When we look out our window we always see plenty of sunshine.  We live in the Mojave Desert, so our summers are hot while our winters are very mild.  We see the cactuses and the desert foliage trying to survive the cool evenings of the winter.  It has been a very mild winter here and we have only had a few nights where it has dipped below freezing!!
Right now, during the daytime it reaches to 60 degrees already.  We normally only have 10 to 12 days a year of cloudy weather.  I think the El Nino effect has brought more rain to our area than usual, but it is still a very temperate place to live.  We have air conditioning for comfort in the summer since it  will reach the hot temperature of 115 degrees for several weeks!!  Right now we can look at our snow covered mountains which surround our valley.  Within an hours drive we can be in the snow, having fun skiing---then leave the snow and come back to warm weather.  We are able to see the beautiful colors in the rocks surrounding our valley, since trees do not grow on the mountains.
Many people have shade trees, grass, and flowers surrounding their homes so they can see the beauty of these plants very close, but if you venture into the desert, you are able to see all the desert plants and animals.  The desert is a beautiful place to see and is abundant with life.  It takes awhile to get used to the difference if you come from a place that has trees and meadows, but once you do you see the beauty of the mountains and desert.  Also from our window we are able to see many houses, schools, parks and most of all --- we see the bright lights of Las Vegas which lures visitors from all over the world.  There are hotels in the shape of King Arthur's castle,  a pyramid, and Italian theme, Caesar's Palace, New York City (including a replica of the Statue of Liberty!) and the biggest hotel, the MGM which has a huge lion and has room for over 5,000 guests!!!
Sometimes on holiday weekends our valley will have over 1 million
visitors  come to have fun!!  Our busiest tourist season is in the summer when millions of people come and swim, play, see shows, gamble, and relax!!  We have a very busy valley and very diversified in nature.  Right now there are approximately 5,000 people a month moving here to work and live so the growth is unbelievable---and there are houses, stores, schools, and of course more hotels being built!!  I hope this gives you some idea of our area.  We love hearing from friends around the globe.  Good bye and wishing you health--Dosjvendona vsevo harosheva!!!!
