Notes: Comet 1995 O1 (Hale-Bopp).
1997:
Mar 9.82: bright arcs visible near nucleus (on the south, sunward
side).
Mar 13.63: arcs...
Mar. 16.59: arcs near nucleus, atm. gase.
Mar 17.56: Nonstarlike (diffuse) nucleus with two bright arcs
in PA 145 up to 280 deg. The distance between the nucl. and arcs
was about 30". There were seen as about: pseudonucleus-dark arc-bright
arc-dark arc-less bright arc - dark arc - faint light arc -> coma. M130mm&96x.
Moonlight.
Mar. 18.85: ion tail difficult to vis., arcs.
Mar. 18.898: 1 min. unfiltr. CCD ST6 + F=110mm, 1:4 lense: Dia=27',
ion tail in PA 348 deg. and dust tail in PA 321 with sinchrones:some brightest
are inclined in PA 328, 327 and 332 deg...
Mar. 19.61: 3 arcs in the sector near the nucleus in PA 163
up to 278 deg., brightest part in PA 237 deg., distanse between arcs
approx. 30", full size of whole this structure about 2'. M130mm&96x.
Mar. 20.749: CCD ST6 + F=110mm, 1:4 lense: Dia=25', Tail in
PA 352 deg (ion), and in PA 326 (dust), there are many sinchrones in the
dust tail, some of them are cloned in PA 331,340,336 deg... exp=1 min.,
unfiltered.
Mar. 21.672: CCD ST6+F=110mm.,1:4 lense: Dia=24', Tail: ion
in PA 350 deg., possible jet 0.5 deg in PA 13-14 deg; dust tail open in
PA 315 up to 333 deg., the brightest in PA 332 deg. Synchrones with PA
334,340...
Mar. 23.59: arcs in PA 169 up to 278, with the brightest parts
in PA 257-260 deg. Distance from the nucleus to the second dark arc is
about 40", to the third ~70" (~30" from the second). The first
bright arc (~20" from nucl.) is jointed to the nucleus at PA ~165 deg.
M130mm&96x.
Mar. 24.57: arcs are better visible (PA 149 up to 292 deg.).
Jointing with nucleus (and possible jet) at PA ~150. In inner part, just
near the pseudo-nucleus, on the sunward side is one more dark arc. Dust
tail formed from two shine streams, separated with faint (shadow?) middle.
Mar. 25.60: 3 dark arcs (nucl-dark-bright-dark-bright-dark-br->coma)
in PA ~150 up to 292 deg, 1.5' all size (second measurment was: PA 152-283
deg, brightest part in PA ~240 deg)
Mar. 26.57: arcs are good visible in PA 138 up to 264 deg. But
the first arc was jointed to the nucleus from the right (!) side (at PA
265 deg.).
Mar. 28.60: The same arcs near nucleus as earlier in PA from
143 deg. up to 280 deg. Contacted with nucleus in PA 280 deg.
Mar. 31.63: Nearnucleus arcs at PA ~160 up to 270 deg.
Apr. 7.658: CCD ST6+F=110mm.,1:4 lense: Ion tail with two streams
in PA 24 and 37 deg., dust tail curve and open at PA 340 up to 10 deg.,
center line approx. in PA 352-353 deg.
